Addie

Female Golden

Adoption Pending

Hi, my name is Addie. I just turned 2 the middle of January and I am on the small side at 55 pounds, but as you can see very beautiful. I am very shy and timid and it takes me a while to warm up to new people. New experiences tend to make me uneasy and nervous, but my foster mom says that I am getting better at adjusting to new things. It just takes me awhile. I do know that children make me nervous. I am not mean around them, but I am very afraid due to my shyness and lack of socialization, so a nice quiet home without children would be best for me. I love to play with all the toys at my foster home and am learning to play with one of my big foster sisters. It is really fun to play tug a toy with her! I love having attention paid to me and once I warm up to you my favorite thing in the whole world is to be petted. I took to my foster dad right away and I follow him all over the place. I am learning to walk the right way with a leash on. It has been kind of hard, because in the beginning I thought I had to walk between my foster parents legs and they are teaching me to walk along side of them. Sometimes loud or strange noises scare me when we are out walking and I try to hide between their legs, but I am learning we can't go very far if I do that, so I am getting better at doing it the right way. My foster mom keeps telling me practice makes perfect! I have always been around other dogs, so I don't know how I would be if there were no other dogs in the home. I will also need a yard with a physical fence. It would be best for me if there was someone home with me most of the time. I get along with my foster sisters and brother and even the cat. I will need parents who understand they will have to give me time to adjust to getting to know them. When I do, I will follow you everywhere and love you very much. I crate well, do well in the house and am beginning to like going for rides in the car. It may take a little time for me to get to know you, but when I do, I am sure you will agree with my foster mom..........I am an awesome little girl!!!!
