Reilly

Hi, there. My name is Reilly and my foster mom says I am a distinguished senior gentleman. I am 10 years old and just a dream to have in her house because I am truly perfectly behaved. I had to come to rescue as my family fell on hard times. I get along with everyone I cross paths with from children to new people to new dogs- I'm just happy "to be". I am a low-key guy, but still have a good amount of energy from my age. I adore being patted and love being near my foster family. I sleep quielty through the night, I am potty trained and I am as gentle as a lamb. My foster mom tells people that I am the type of boy who only comes along once in a blue moon. I like to have something in my mouth, like a soft toy or a ball, when I'm exicted and my foster mom calls me cuter than cute. I am waiting to meet my forever family who will shower me with the love and attention that I deserve in my golden years. P.S.- My foster mom wants you to know that these pictures don’t do me justice and that I am so much more handsome in person.

Dukey

Hi! My name is Dukey and I’m so happy that you are taking a moment to read all about me! I am 6 years young. I’m happy about a lot of things in life, but most of all, I’m happy about finding my new forever family! Is it you? I am a grand boy in so many ways- I am about 95 pounds and my foster family is helping me slim down by just a few pounds to reach a healthier weight, but I’ll always be a larger sized boy because my stature and my paw size are both impressive. I was surrendered to Love A Golden Rescue because my owner was no longer physically able to take care of me and I am coping amazingly well. My foster mom keeps telling me she’s so proud of me for being such a brave and happy boy and she’s amazed at how quickly I’ve adjusted to a new home with all new smells, sounds, sights, people and dogs. She calls me a happy-go-lucky boy, which I think sums me up pretty well. I am potty trained and I know commands like “sit” and “come” and “down” or “off” if I happen to be on furniture that I shouldn’t have climbed up onto without permission. My foster home has two other Goldens and two children and I am great with all of them. My foster mom says I am not in any way an “alpha male” because I am flexible and go with the flow and know that I am not the one in charge of this pack- she says I really am going to fit in wonderfully with my forever family who is just waiting on pins and needles to adopt me. I am smart, handsome, eager to please and L-O-V-E having a tennis ball in my mouth. I am also a fabulous fetch-er of balls and would love the chance to get to play fetch with you!

Sidney

Hi, My name is Sidney. Due to my owners medical situation, I came to rescue so I can find a new home. My birthday is 15th November 2003 so I am just 8 years old. My foster Mom says I have the most beautiful, big, brown eyes! I would love to be your big lovable golden boy! I’m well behaved in the house. I do not need to be crated as I am such a good boy. I get along well with other dogs, but would do fine as an only dog. I am anxious to find my forever home.

Kasey

Hi! My name is Kasey and I just may be the most exuberant guy you’ll ever meet. I was rescued from a shelter. I like to focus on enjoying the present, but my foster parents think I was probably an owner surrender to the shelter-only because I look pretty healthy and I’m house trained, though they can’t figure out why anyone would ever give up a precious pup like me! I am a golden mix, am probably about a year old, and still have A LOT of puppy energy but I aim to please and try really hard to do whatever my foster parents tell me to. They say that with some training and patience, I will turn out to be even more awesome than I already am, as if that’s possible! I think I’m a pretty good boy overall, I already know not to potty in the house, how to sit, and I always come when I’m called. I’m also pretty good at snuggling when I’m not playing but don’t mind going in my crate when it’s time for bed. My foster parents are helping me work on my table manners, walking on a leash, and jumping (I get really excited when I meet new people) and my foster sisters are teaching me not to play quite as rough. I’m pretty much happy wherever I am, but my foster parents say I’d probably do better in a home with someone who likes to play tug and fetch and will exercise with me a lot.

Clay

Hi, my name is Clay. My foster Mom says I am a cute little guy -only about 42# - I may get a little bigger, but not much.  I look like a “miniature” golden!!  I was a lost little guy and it took several months for the shelter to “catch” me.  I’m very shy and timid. I’m happy in my foster home and love my new big doggie friend.  We play a lot. I would do best in a quieter home with another dog and humans who will give me time to get to know them and understand a little guy like me..  I crate very well and don’t get into anything. But I am still a puppy (approx. 1 year) so you need to help me learn about what’s not mine!

Fletcher
Hi, I'm Fletcher!  I'm a smallish Golden mix.  I used to be a farm dog in rural,  Mo, but that all changed when my family moved to the town.  Lucky for me, Love a Golden found out what a handsome guy I am and came and rescued me.  I was a little apprehensive in my foster home at first - they had this big flight of steps, but I quickly mastered it.  My foster parents let me sleep on these cushy dog beds!  They're fantastic and I sleep so well, I don't even make a peep.  I walk well on a leash, although sometimes those city traffic sounds surprise me.  You may notice that one of my eyes looks different.  Turns out I had some sort of trauma back on the farm and now that eye is blind.  Basically, I bump into things sometimes because I can't see them, but other than that, I get along just fine.  My foster brother is a LAGR alum, and he's helping me learn the ropes, although sometimes I like to keep things from him for myself - my foster family is helping me learn to share.  Because I lived on a farm, I love to be outside, so I really need for my forever family to have a fence so I can run and play... oh, and because I'm known as a little bit of an escape artist/bolter in my foster home.  I really love to have people around, but if they're busy I'm content to go take a nap or lay in the sun.

Tuckie
My name is Tuckie and I am from a breeder.  My foster mom is teaching me all the fun things that come with being a dog!  She taught me how to go up and down stairs, and we have come a long way with not being scared of every loud noise I hear.  We are working on Sit, Stay, Down, and Off.  Unfortunately I only knew the word “NO!” before this.  I am also learning not to flinch when my foster mom tries to pet me on the head, which she does a lot.  My front teeth are worn down from trying to get out of my cage, but they don’t bother me because I have a hearty appetite.  My foster mom says I’m a Love Bug, because I am so excited to greet her each morning after her alarm goes off.  I love being petted and hugged and give kisses when I get the chance.  I am good at getting into my crate with a treat.  I am a big boy, seven years old, and hope you have the patience, and room in your heart and home for a guy like me.

Codee

Hi, my name is Codee, and I am 7 ½ years old.  I am an owner surrender, and until I was rescued, I lived my life outside in a pen.  Now, I am an inside dog, and I love it so much.  I am house broken and very well mannered.  I have learned that I like cats, however I still like to try to catch squirrels and rabbits.  That must be a dog thing.  I walk very well on leash.  I do well with other dogs or am content to be the only dog.  I love to get as much attention as I can.  I know basic commands and will do my best to please anyone.  I just want lots of love.  I am learning to travel in a car, but it still scares me.  Other than that, nothing else seems to frighten me (not even thunderstorms).  I am going to Petco “meet and greets” where I take the term greet very serious.  Please come by and see me.  I would love to welcome you to see all of us available dogs.

Charlie
Brown
Charlie Brown needs a very special home, he is 9 years old and came to rescue when his family lost  their home.   He gets ear infections often and his ears have to be watched.  He had a lump removed it is a Mass Cell grade 2.   Clear Margins were obtained during surgery.  Please consider giving this guy a special home.  He is in our senior life program.
