Love Golden Retrievers? Want to help displaced Goldens find loving homes? Interested in helping educate people about responsible dog ownership? If so, please consider volunteering with Love a Golden Rescue.

We are a group of unpaid volunteers who love our Goldens and want to help other Goldens have the loving homes they deserve. Many of us live in the St. Louis, MO area, and our primary focus is on Goldens in that area or within driving distance.

We are currently in desperate need of foster homes. If you think you might be willing to open your home to a dog who needs a place to go temporarily and needs love and attention, then please let us know.

Besides fostering, there are many volunteer opportunities. These include going on home visits to meet with prospective adoptive families, transporting dogs, organizing events, preparing educational programs, and fundraising. We welcome your ideas on new programs we can offer. Volunteers are expected to participate in at least 2 Love A Golden activities per year to remain active. 	Stainless Steel food bowls (2 quart size)
	Stuffed Dog Toys (affectionately known as “woobies”)
	Kong toys
	Tennis Balls (new or used)
	6” or 8” sterilized bones
	Crates
	Gift certificates to Petco, Petsmart, or other dog supply stores

These gifts will help support our volunteer foster homes in caring for the Goldens. The foster home generally provides the food, dog supplies, and routine grooming (unless you donate something on the Golden Wish List). Our rescue group generally pays for routine vet care (including necessary shots, microchipping, heartworm testing and preventative, and spaying/neutering), emergency vet care, and other pre-approved expenses. Since some dogs may require expensive treatments costing far more than the usual adoption donation, you can also make a big difference by donating money toward those costs and our administrative costs of governmental filings, postage, telephone, and the like.
